Fairfax, VA — It’s the end of the semester and students gather here with their commencement regalia for photo opportunities. Inside the Johnson Center, and unseen, Dawn and Jared of Sunny Day sit down to talk about a new compilation album they are featured in.
Spring Roots and Lullabies (cover art pictured above) was released last Friday, and benefits translifeline.org, an organization that helps trans people throughout the US and Canada.
Dawn started songwriting just one year after she started playing guitar. Jared dug his heels in to Weezer covers until he started writing his own songs. What they accomplished together with a folk-punk, do-it-yourself emo sound urges the feet to tap and the dial to crank!
Jared performing outside of Corner Pocket at The Hub. Step inside the Sunny Day band interview and check out their bold new sounds. Check out the podcast episode below.
